ins and outs for 2026 // by michele

You might have seen our reel on Instagram, but let’s talk about it. here are my ins and outs for 2026:

  1. IN: defined spaces - OUT: open concept: Rooms need walls! antique furniture, art, drapery: so many good things need walls to go on. Defined rooms not only give you space to display your collection and make a room feel complete, but they also allow you to live in your home more peacefully. Your office can just be your office. Your living room can just be a space for hanging out

  2. IN: warm colors jewel tones - OUT: grey: We are no stranger to color drenching, so of course we are loving this color palette to play with. Jewel tones add SO MUCH personality to a space!

  3. IN: maximalism - OUT: minimalism: The more the merrier! Adding layers to a space through accent furniture, art with depth, a range of colors, and countless textures makes your space unique and personal. Maximalism is perfect for showing off style and collections!

  4. IN: custom/ artisan - OUT: generic: Custom pieces in your home allow you the freedom and ability to get exactly what you want! Want to stencil your walls? Go for it! Want a custom mural to coordinate with your custom pillows? We are in!

  5. IN: rich color, dark stain - OUT: neutral cabinets: If you are flipping your house and need to appeal to the masses, stick with neutral. If you want to feel at home in your home, choose a fun color or a rich stain. Right now we are loving dark walnut stains and green paint!

  6. IN: architectural millwork - OUT: builder-grade: my Pinterest is full of millwork ideas. from bobbin trims, to custom crown molding, I am dying to try something unique this year. these are all such a statement and instantly elevate any space.

news from around the office

We have officially moved offices! We are loving the community at ADAC and feel so welcome and excited to be here. Check out our instagram to see how we’ve brought the office to life with wallpaper, reusing our carpet from our old space, and hanging our beloved crane panels from the 2023 Home for the Holiday showhouse. It feels so warm and inviting, we can’t wait for you to see it!

Michele has been busy checking in on renovation projects visiting renovation sites and meeting with some friends in the industry as well as new clients! She is looking forward to Highpoint Market this spring with Grace and hopes to find lots of inspiration. Michele is finishing up dance team and senior year with her daughter and is just starting lacrosse with her son. She is looking forward to senior spring break and Cabo, and soon after, graduation!

Grace has been hard at work with drawings and elevations for our most recent projects. She is often on site making sure everything is installed according to plan, and triple checking measurements. She is also looking forward to Highpoint and can’t wait to see all they have to offer this year. Grace is also planning to visit Mexico this month for a little birthday trip! We can’t wait to hear all about it.

Erin is happy to be settled in the new office. She managed most of the move and clean out of the old office, so it feels great to be in one place. She is working on growing our instagram with fun reels and stories! Erin is looking forward to summer with family and friends and hopes to get some trips planned!

movie and tv interiors that are totally distracting // by erin

I can’t be the only one who gets completely distracted by tv and movie sets! I catch myself rewinding to see what actually happened because the first time around, I was trying to figure out if I could fit an island in my kitchen just like the one in It’s Complicated, or looking up where to have custom portraits painted while watching Bridgerton.

Some movies, and filmmakers, are known for their sets- like the queen, Nancy Meyers. She is the master of making her sets feel collected and layered. It has a sense of nostalgia while it inspires new ideas. No wonder these sets and her aesthetic have gone viral!

I’ve rounded up a few of our faves!

  1. This is 40: This set is so gorgeous. The story behind it is pretty cool, but they filmed in someone’s home adding little to no details in certain areas. It’s so bright and airy which is a little ironic considering the plot.

  2. Bridgerton: I recently heard that Bridgerton has the highest cost for production than any other series. When you think about these beautiful sets and time period appropriate outfits, it makes sense!

  3. It’s Complicated: All I want is this kitchen (and maybe the croissants from her bakery!) This whole layout is so dreamy, not to mention the lived-in look! Always chasing this one.

  4. You’ve Got Mail: This whole apartment still passes the test for enviable homes. Something about the weird layout, collected books and magazines that make it so charming!

  5. Parenthood: I saw this backyard garden for the first time in 2010 and haven’t stopped thinking about it since. the string lights, the long table for the whole family, I can’t get enough!

  6. Something’s Gotta Give: The stunning interiors in the movie really help calm the tension! I could put photos of the whole house, but this master bedroom is the showstopper. This huge wall of windows with an oversized desk, and mismatched furniture is so endearing and elevated. Nancy Meyers does it again.

What sets are you still thinking about? What do you love about them?
